Theory :
What is Taekwon-Do?
Taekwon-Do is the art of self defence founded by the General Choi Hong Hi, a Korean General. Translated literally "Tae" means jumping or flying, to kick or smash with the foot. "Kwon" means the fist, to punch or destroy with the hands or fist. "Do" means art or way, the right way built by the saints and sages in the past.

Foundation of Taekwon-Do: 11th April 1955.
Foundation of the I.T.F: 22nd March1966.

Meaning of Belt Colour :

  • White signifies innocence, as that of a beginning student who has no previous knowledge of Taekwon-Do.
  • Yellow signifies the earth from which a plant sprouts and takes root as the Taekwon-Do foundation is being laid.
